Blah to Beautiful!
My Mom had an old wood curio cabinet when she passed away that I didn't really want to part with however - it wasn't in the best shape and it certainly wasn't very pretty. Here are the steps that I took to repair it - instead of replacing it! 1) Cleaned the cabinet well with soap & water. 2) Used degreaser to ensure the wood was clean before sanding. 3) Sanded entire cabinet 4) Painted the cabinet will Kilz primer to ensure no bleed through of the pine sap after painting 5) Used Cream colored milk paint to paint the outside of the cabinet. And I used a pretty teal color on the back of the inside of the cabinet to give it just a hint of color. 6)Used WD-40 to lubricate the old hinges on the doors 7)Removed the glass from the cabinet doors and replaced it with chicken wire instead to give the cabinet a farmhouse feel 8)Added new hardware to the cabinet for the finishing touch!
