1946 logan 820 metal lathe restoration

Plus 11 more

My 1946 logan model 820 metal lathe.
It was in non operating condition when I bought it I fully stripped it and sand blasted all the parts I could.

I bought new gibs from logan and several other parts as well. It was a surprise they still make parts for a 1946 machine.

I pulled the apron apart and repaired the clutch driver system as well as inspecting and cleaning the quick change gearbox.

The 3 jaw scroll chuck had seen better days so I pulled it apart and cleaned it with a mixture of diesel and wd-40 de-greaser and reassemble it and the concentricity was greatly improved.

After that it was time for final assembly and the first cuts.

Unfortunately I don't have pictures or video of the full process because I was doing all the work by myself.
