1949 Chrysler Windsor - a rescue with a happy ending
Tucked away in a garage in Dallas, Texas is this 1949 Chrysler Windsor that my wife and I pulled out and towed away last month. The car belonged to longtime friends - upon the demise of her husband, my friend decided it's time to sell the house and move into a retirement home... which means it was time for the Chrysler to find a good home. This car was has been in the previous owner's care since the mid-1950s, when her parents bought it for her used as a car to drive to college... and it's been with her and her late husband ever since, and it's seen a lot. However it was tucked away in the garage in the early 1990s and hasn't seen the light of day since. We told her we would fix it up and get it back on the road, and that's our goal... but as you can see it needs a lot of help - the kind of help you and the $5,000 would surely provide! This is a solid survivor that deserves to be back out there for people to see and enjoy, and we rescued it from the scrap heap. Most importantly this will be a car and a project my wife and I can share and wrench on together, and we'd sure appreciate it if you'd consider our Chrysler in your competition!
