1968 Dodge D200

My wife wanted a truck like her dad had. We found this 1968 Dodge D200 Camper Special which is nearly identical to the one her dad owned. It has less than 100,000 miles and the 383 with an A27 3-speed automatic that was recently rebuilt. When we got it, it needed a timing chain and new distributor along with a good tune up. Recently the rear brakes failed and is prompting a possible disc conversion as the parts are hard to find. We have updated the headlights to increase night-time visibility if we are out late enjoying the sounds of a true dual exhaust V8. There is more to be done to finish this project. Things we are working on next is replacing all the window seals, cleaning up the carburetor and replacing some big sections of the truck bed due to rust. Our plan is to restore it and only lightly modernize it. We want to remove the red spray paint and reveal the original teal color and patina. The dash and electrical system need updated and we will likely add power steering for comfort. The wheels and tires are in need of updating as well. This truck is a blast to drive and we are excited to get it running in top condition after years of sitting.
