1975 Monte Carlo

I have owned this 1975 monte carlo since 1999 and was my first car in high school. It has always been a long term project with its ups and downs of course. Over the years I had guidance and this car actually jump started my career. It's seen me through many of lifes milestones. Some fond memories doing rust patches on the farm. I had no other vehicle to drive and it was misting rain. I needed to get on the road but just had welded a patch in and was looking for spray paint to cover up the bare metal. The closest thing to me was a can of WD40 and I sprayed it all over that patch just so I could get to my destination. I later learned the lesson why thats bad for paint but it didnt rust! I love it and hate it at times but most of all our family enjoys it as much as we can. I have never been one to go the route of everyone else and I constantly choose the harder path. Putting an Oldsmobile motor in a Chevrolet sounds simple but it definitely is a task to make it look factory. Couple that with working on a vehicle that isnt popular like a camaro and parts are vert limited in production the task to find something simple absolutely becomes impossible at times. I love challenges and working throguh them. I have had MANY sleepless nights wrenching and tweaking but that's what car guys do! Currently it has a semi stock looking interior, converted to swivel buckets, custom installed guages, many factory option upgrades. It sports a 1968 Oldsmobile 455 under the hood paired with a built turbo 350 trans. Hydroboost upgrade with a custom designed rear disk brake kit. Since parts don't exist for my generation I helped to put together a kit specifically for 73-77 vehicles that could be bolted onto our cars with minimal tools. Paired together with a Stage 2 Detroit Speed Suspension Kit this handles like a dream! Finished the back end off with a custom trunk interior.
