1979 El Camino Mad Max MFP tribute car
I started with a rusted out El Camino that was destined for a scrap yard and got it running. Then I got inspired to give it a whole second life as a Mad Max tribute vehicle based on the police patrol vehicles from the original film. WD-40 products saved the day on many occasions. Penetrants spray let me free up fasteners that had over 40 years of rust and road salt corrosion, the silicone spray allowed me to salvage the window and door weather stripping, degreaser brought movement back to the windshield wipers and partnered with the white lithium spray operate as smoothly as they would have in 1979. Once I got to chasing some electrical issues the contact cleaner let me drive at night with my freshly working lights. A quick spray of dry lube in the ignition cylinder and it turns over with ease now. While my list of tasks may not be fully checked off yet, I can at least enjoy my vehicle and the second chance at life its been given.
