1uz MX5 Miata

With the shop constantly working on broken projects and racecars, WD40 is the GO-TO for anything and everything. The little miata that could started off as a fun project, that turned into the shop mascot. With a self-made custom turbo and exhaust set up, this little machine boogied at about 350whp- which is why we were in the shop after every event pulling the high comp 1.6 motor out after blowing it up. After the 6th time, we decided to pull the trigger and do the ultimate swap and test our problem solving and ingenuity: mounting a 1uz v8 to a bmw m50 5spd transmission, and shoving it in an engine bay of the 2100lbs miata. With the finish line in sight, we've completed: -hand pinning the wire harness to run the motor and necessary misc components for a comfortable ride -have the mock motor mounts made and permanent mounts designed and ready to be welded -finished the custom driveline. The little miata that could will be shake 'n bake'n around the track soon enough!
