Received this 2006 4runner for free from a friend because she has wrecked it and the frame was Swiss cheesed. Found a frame for $200 locally and after $2500, 200 plus man hours and more wd-40 than I’d like to admit she’s back on the road and better than ever
Step 1
First day diagnosing the issues. Wrecked on drivers side and rear control arms rotted off frame.
Step 2
With 11 Jack stands and a full tool box the work began.
Step 3
Old frame and suspension out. Rust is falling from the sky like snow.
Step 4
New frame, suspension, entire front end rebuild, radiator and a ton of engine parts
Step 5
It was pouring rain but I couldn’t resist
Step 6
2500 miles in since the rebuild and besides some cosmetics and a few sensors she chugs down the road like a tank
