Blown dakota
Had a buddy buy a truck with a junk motor which he didn't know at the time. He drove home and it started running terrible. Brought it to me to find out the motor is shot and needs to be swapped.
Step 1
Received truck and started inspection
Step 2
Remove supercharger and intake to repair
Step 3
Remove cam and inspect
Step 4
Turns out The customer Had a brand new 5.9 crate motor sitting under his bench at home and this was the route we were now going to take but being supercharged cam needed to be swapped and valve springs so we ordered those and decided on a program to tune the truck
Step 5
Removing big Lopey cam with a lot of overlap to supercharger cam and installing different valve springs
Step 6
Now with a new cam and Springs the timing cover needed to be swapped along with the oil pan and installed a new aftermarket intake manifold
Step 7
Now we reinstalled the engine cleaned up some of the Hokey wiring that was done prior
Step 8
We also had to install supporting modifications such as bigger injectors a different map sensor a wideband O2 sensor and knock sensor
Step 9
After all said an done the truck ran pretty good on oem tune
Step 10
Unfortunately this is where we left off with a vehicle and still needs to be tuned
