Curb and safety appeal with setbacks

Plus 8 more

First of all, buying a house as-is with zero curb appeal I knew this needed a makeover, secondly my dog thinks she’s Kool-Aid man and would bust through the front screen door thinking every delivery person was there to personally say hello to her causing me to need a baby gate around the front door inside the house. The solution for me, install a front gated banister, easy fix right?! I thought this was going to be easy, boy was I wrong! I ordered railing kits, the first railing on the side was not a problem, I got to the second one, the bolts broke off INSIDE the cement…I had to try to bore new holes into the bolts so they could be backed out. That was an epic fail. I ended up having to drill out the concrete around the bolts, pour new concrete in the holes and let it set and then used different bolts because this just didn’t happen once, it was twice. Finally got to the last mini section to the left of the gate and realized I ran out of mounting brackets…25.00 in shipping later I finally finished this install, I added a brick border with hydrangeas and mulch in front, power washed the entire porch and then installed edging next to the garage and added flowers. What was supposed to be a 1 day project turned into 4.
