Destroyed Statue

My employer was gifted a statue from a close friend. During the statues removal, the statue was dropped and broken in several pieces. My employer knows I have some welding skills but I am just a CAD operator in his business. He decided to have it shipped to our workplace and have me try to fix it. I had never touched a bronze statue let alone welded one before. After 2 weeks of research and a small about of practice on some material I found locally, I was able to complete the repair. After the repair was complete I was then put in touch with the original artist (not sure why this didnt happen sooner) who gave me some tips on fixing the patina to blend in. My emplyer ultimately decided to leave the repair visible and allow it to patina on its own.
