Patch the latch

So you have a door latch that keeps sticking, making opening and closing the door more of a chore than it should be. Don't worry, you don't have to go out and buy new hardware. Let's get it working again with the help of WD-40.

Step 1

Tools you'll need: - Paper towels - Can of WD-40

Step 2

Prep the WD-40 can by giving it a good shake and flipping the Smart Straw up to the "stream" position.

Step 3

Cover the friction points of the door latch with WD-40 and allow it to soak in for a few minutes.

Step 4

Work the WD-40 into the door latch by toggling the latch with your finger and by turning the door handle.

Step 5

Using your paper towels, wipe away any excess liquid to prevent dripping and apply a protective coat.

Step 6

Open and close the door a few times to finish the job. This door latch works much better now, all thanks to the help of WD-40.
