Rare Victory cross country brought back to life.
I purchased a rare, custom built Victory cross country that had been built by Arlen Ness’ grandson Zach Ness for the 2014 Sturgis rally. It has a custom setup including Ohlins forks for a ZX10R, carbon fiber wheels manufactured in 2006 by BST. It also has a one off chain drive conversion along with a supercharger by ProCharger. I bought the bike wrecked and had to scour eBay and local listings for the parts to reassemble, as the parts are so hard to find, now that Victory motorcycles are no longer produced. Paying over MSRP for some parts just so I could put it all back together. I have documented some of the process through instagram as well. @that_supercharged_victory. I’ve used a couple WD40 products like the degreaser to clean up residual oil and grease residue for tear down and the original formula to penetrate corroded parts. I’m not finished, but we are getting close. My big goal is to have the bike repainted to match the original build. It’s been a fun process to save this bike from being forgotten in a junkyard.
