Repair a Squeaky Door Hinge

We are getting ready to move and doing a lot of packing and fixing of our house. I had a door that squeaked loudly every time it was opened or closed. The noise had been getting worse, so I cleaned the hinge area and applied WD-40 to the hinge pins. After working the door back and forth a few times, the squeak disappeared completely. It was a quick and simple repair that made a noticeable difference, and now the door opens and closes smoothly and quietly. This easy fix saved me from replacing the hinges and restored the door to perfect working order.
