Restoring Rusted Screws

I used WD-40 to remove rust from the old screws on my outdoor basketball hoop. After spraying the rusted hardware, I let it soak so the penetrating formula could work its way into the threads and loosen years of corrosion. This made the screws much easier to remove without damaging them or the hoop. Taking the time to treat the rust first helped simplify the repair and extend the life of the basketball hoop.
