Softail deluxe budget build

Plus 6 more

Bought this wrecked 2006 Softail from a buddy as the deal was too hard to pass up.
Thought it was gonna a simple swap parts and but I was faced with gremlins along the way
I started the project by banging the headlight off with a hammer as I couldn’t get access to the nut.
I bought budget headlights that were plug n play but had to delete the spot lights as they would short out but I left the wire there incase I wanted to use the in the future
Had to find another short in the wire harness as the fuse would pop with the high beams so I cut everything and made connectors in between the headlight and fuel tank for easier access without having to remove one or the other while testing
I hammered fork covers to fit on the forks as used and new Harley parts are expensive(for me) especially for not being made anymore.
The jiffy stand was broken off so I had to order a used one and use my old wheels to hold up the bike
And shortly after the brake caliper froze up and cleaned it out and replaced the seals but didn’t work as the calipers were ate up so bad from contamination so I’m using the rear brakes for the mean time
Despite being a budget build it has been reliable and takes me to point a to b and c if I wanted too compared to my previous motorcycles.
For the price and time spent I do not regret this experience. Only thing I would change if I had deep pockets is to get oem/oem+ not aftermarket
