Staircase Makeover

My boyfriend and I just bought a house that we are renovating from top to bottom. This is the staircase makeover. We started by tearing the wall at the top of the stairs out so we could install a railing to open the space up. We then took all the cat pee soaked, stained carpet off these steps. The top of the staircase had a 45 degree step that we removed. We framed in a new step and a new landing for the top of the staircase. We pulled about a million staples off the steps and painted the trim along the stairs white. We then used a heat gun to fold the edges of the vinyl plank flooring around each step. This took probably about 24 hours total to complete. We finished laying the flooring on all the steps and added thresholds around a couple edges at the top of the staircase. We finished the steps with a freshly painted black railing and white kick plates.
