Tahoe Front Bumper Assembly Repair - Challenge ACCEPTED!
Wife was side-swiped by a landscaper's truck/trailer, they kept going-no insurance info exchanged. Our auto insurance & body shop informed us of a 4 month backlog on repairs, so I decided to take on the repair myself.
Step 1
In heavy traffic, my wife was side-swiped by a landscaper's truck/trailer. They sped off with no intention of exchanging insurance info.
Step 2
I decided to take on the repair myself, so I started to disassemble the front bumper assembly. After inspecting the damage, I made a list of parts & tool needed and ordered the same.
Step 3
I replaced the damaged front left wheel well liner.
Step 4
The front bumper assembly left hand side attach points are beefy plastic and were sheared off, so I ordered a new pop-rivet gun & white color-matching rivets to re-attach the bumper retainers back to the bumper assembly itself. Finally re-installed the front bumper assembly for a finished project. Not too bad for a first-time medium level auto body repair!
