Wheel barrow restoration

Plus 4 more
This was a fun and much needed restoration I decided to tackle last Summer. I took all the photos of the old wheelbarrow for reference for putting it back together. Then I needed that good ol' WD-40 to take the rusted bolts off. Success! I found some red oak pieces that worked perfectly for the handles and used a draw knife to shape them. The trickiest part was getting the wedges cut to the right size and the bolt holes lined back up properly through all the wood pieces at odd angles. But with some marking and eye balling I got them lined up. After a sanding with a sanding wheel and a repaint job the metal parts were looking great again. The natural wood preservative made it stand out beautifully. I use this all the time and am proud of the time and effort it took to repair it... (It was actually a freebie from a friend!) Thanks to WD-40 for the challenge and opportunity to show off this repair project!
